CRAFT RESIN Deep Pour Up to 2" Casting Epoxy — 1.5 Gallon Mix (2:1) | Crystal Clear
Craft Resin Deep Pour Epoxy is a crystal-clear casting epoxy resin for river tables, deep molds, large castings, encapsulation, and flower preservation. It creates thick, depth-rich, glass-like results.
- Up to 2” per layer — engineered for thick, controlled pours in large builds and deep casting projects.
- Smooth self-leveling, bubble-release formula — optimized low-viscosity (600 CPS) resin pours smoothly and helps reduce trapped bubbles.
- Easy, consistent mixing — simple 2:1 ratio with extended working time (90 min) for deep and large projects.
- Durable cure — cures in 48–72 hours (depending on temperature and mass) and develops strong hardness once fully cured.
- Heat resistance — withstands heat up to 176°F once fully cured.
- UV resistant clarity — anti-yellowing support helps maintain long-term transparency and protect embedded objects over time.
- Low odor formula — contains no VOCs or solvents when used as directed. Food safe once fully cured.
Kit includes: 1.5 gallons total (1 gal resin + 0.5 gal hardener).

Product specifications
Built for big pours and clean results. Craft Resin Deep Pour is formulated for large-scale casting projects and river table work, supporting pours up to 2 inches (5 cm) per layer with controlled curing and reliable clarity.
The low-viscosity system flows easily into details, self-levels smoothly, and helps bubbles release naturally when temperature is properly managed. Expect a glass-like finish that’s made to hold up in real workshops — from deep molds and encapsulation to large slab pours.

FAQ

What is Craft Resin Deep Pour epoxy designed for?
Deep Pour is engineered for large-scale castings — river tables, deep molds, thick encapsulations, and high-volume pours where controlled curing is critical.
What is the mixing ratio?
Mix 2:1 by volume (A:B). Measure using graduated mixing cups. Accurate measuring and thorough mixing are essential for a full cure.
What is the mixed viscosity?
600 cps (mixed). This supports smooth flow, strong self-leveling, and efficient bubble release with proper temperature control.
How thick can I pour per layer?
Pour up to 2 inches (5 cm) per layer.
If you need more thickness, use multiple pours and follow proper recoat timing.
What temperature should I work at?
For predictable curing and controlled exotherm, aim for 18–20°C (64–68°F).
If you are pouring larger amounts, use the table below to select a cooler working temperature range.
What is the maximum volume I can pour at once?
If you’re pouring at the maximum recommended depth of 2 in (5 cm), we recommend limiting a single pour to 12 L (≈ 3.2 gal) of mixed epoxy.
If you need to pour a larger volume in one session, use the table below to adjust temperature and pour strategy.
When can I pour the next layer?
Pour the next layer when the previous layer reaches a firm gel stage — not liquid, not fully hard.
If the previous layer fully cures, scuff-sand before recoating for best adhesion.
My resin is still soft or tacky after 48 hours — is that normal?
Deep pour systems cure slower by design. Some pours may need more time depending on volume and temperature.
If tackiness persists too long, check:
- ratio (2:1 by volume)
- mixing quality (scrape sides and bottom)
- temperature (target 18–20°C / 64–68°F, or use the table for large pours)
How do I minimize bubbles in deep pours?
- Keep the workspace stable at 18–20°C (64–68°F) (or follow the table for larger volumes)
- Mix slowly and thoroughly
- Pour in a steady stream
- Use brief surface heat only for surface bubbles — avoid overheating the mass
Why does wood keep bubbling for hours (or days)?
Wood and porous materials outgas during long cure windows. Apply a seal coat to porous wood/live edge before the main pour.
For river tables, staged pours also help: a thinner first pour to penetrate cracks, then the main fill.
Can I use external heaters or heat mats?
Not recommended for large pours. Deep Pour is formulated for controlled, low-exotherm curing. External heat reduces your safety margin and can increase overheating risk.
What causes overheating, cracking, or smoke?
Most issues come from pushing pour limits or working too warm:
- exceeding 2 in (5 cm) per layer
- exceeding 12 L (≈ 3.2 gal) at max depth
- working above the recommended temperature range
Use staged pours and follow the table for large volumes.
What pigments and colorants work best for deep pours?
Use colorants designed for epoxy resin. Keep pigment loading conservative for thick pours to maintain cure performance and clarity.
Is Craft Resin Deep Pour heat resistant?
Yes. Once cured, it provides heat resistance up to 80°C (176°F).
For best long-term performance, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat or placing very hot cookware directly on cured resin surfaces.
Is this epoxy safe to use indoors?
Yes — when used as directed. Deep Pour has minimal odor and is formulated to be non-toxic, VOC-free, and solvent-free.
Even with low odor, we still recommend working in a well-ventilated space and using standard PPE (gloves and eye protection) during mixing and pouring.
Does “VOC-free” mean I don’t need ventilation or gloves?
No. “VOC-free” refers to the formulation being free of volatile organic compounds and solvents, but resin is still a reactive chemical system while liquid. Use nitrile gloves, protect your eyes, and maintain good ventilation until the epoxy is fully cured.
Is Craft Resin Deep Pour food safe?
Yes — it is certified food safe when fully cured. For best practice, treat cured epoxy as safe for indirect food contact (serving surfaces, tabletops).
Always allow full curing before use.
Is Deep Pour beginner-friendly?
Yes — but large projects require experience (volume, temperature, exotherm management).
